About

I am Arnout Verhoeve, a GIS specialist and web developer with more than 15 years of experience in analyzing, managing and visualizing geodata. 

Around 2007 I discovered Drupal, and it quickly sparked a new passion: building websites. In 2012 I started working at the Flemish Environment Agency (VMM), where I worked as a data manager for the sewer inventory. There I built the foundation for my knowledge of database structures, data quality and managing complex datasets.

Over the years I grew into a GIS expert with a strong focus on QGIS, PostGIS, spatial analysis and geodata automation. In 2015 I also started a side business developing and selling websites (mainly Drupal websites). This combination of data, maps and web technology proved to be the perfect foundation for the work I do today.

In 2023 I completed the postgraduate program GEO-ICT, where I further deepened my technical skills: PostgreSQL database management, GeoServer, SQL optimization, QGIS automation, DBeaver, JavaScript, Node.js, Python and interactive maps with Leaflet. This program strengthened my passion for turning raw data into powerful insights.

In 2025–2026 I temporarily worked – through official leave – at VLAIO as a geo-applications specialist, where I further expanded my knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and FME. The common thread throughout all these years? Developing applications that make data accessible, understandable and useful for organizations.

From that passion, GEOVISTA was created: a website where I combine my expertise in geodata, web development and dashboards. I develop mapping applications, GEO dashboards, web apps and high-performance websites that help organizations make better decisions, work faster and use their data more intelligently.

My expertise lies at the intersection of spatial analysis, database design and web development. This allows me to guide the entire process: from raw geodata to a high-performance dashboard or an interactive mapping application.

I believe in clear communication, step-by-step guidance and sustainable solutions that you can use and continue to expand yourself.
